These quarterly sessions are hosted exclusively for our clients, providing an opportunity to hear directly from the Pure Product Team about current features, upcoming developments, and strategic initiatives.

  • Now: Features that are fully available today (100% certainty of availability for your users).
  • Next: Functionality that is currently in development (80–100% likelihood of release).
  • Exploring: Early-stage ideas we are evaluating (30–40% likelihood of progressing to development). These initiatives are explored to ensure they address a broad need and can be delivered sustainably.

Pure lecture series

The Pure Lecture Series is designed for new Pure administrators and those looking to refresh their product knowledge. This comprehensive series will cover essential topics to help you optimize your use of Pure for research information management.

Session descriptions

Session 1:

Introduction to Pure 

The session offers an overview of Pure, explaining its purpose and how it is used by researchers, librarians, research officers, and support teams. It covers key use cases, such as managing research profiles, tracking awards, and generating reports. The session then explores the various Pure modules. It also highlights available resources, including documentation and training materials, and discusses support options through Pure admins and Customer Success team. Additionally, the session includes demos which allow participants to explore Pure live.

Session 2:

Managing researcher profiles in Pure

This Pure session provides guidance to optimize profile management. Designed for administrators and support staff, participants will learn best practices in updating and maintaining accurate researcher’s profiles – and can provide training to the researchers according to your own institutional requirements. Topics will include updating personal information, editing fingerprints, adding publications, linking projects and highlighting achievements. This session is essential for anyone involved in managing research information.

Session 3:

Mastering the Pure backend – For Administrators

The session is designed to equip administrators with essential skills for effectively managing the backend of the Pure system. This comprehensive training covers key areas such as system configuration, user permissions, and data management, ensuring administrators can handle technical aspects of the Pure database. The session also introduces features such as metrics reporting and SciVal integration, providing administrators with the foundational knowledge to utilize these tools if needed. By attending this training, administrators will gain the expertise necessary to maintain efficient and smooth operations within the Pure system.

Session 4:

Harnessing data from Pure: reporting and APIs

This Pure training focuses on leveraging data from Pure through advanced reporting and APIs. Participants learn to create detailed, customized reports using filters and groupings for in-depth analysis. The session also explores APIs, enabling integration of Pure data with external systems for automation and enhanced workflows. This training equips users to extract value from Pure data, improve research management, and foster collaboration through seamless integration with other tools.

Session 5:

Exploring the Award Management module

This session is designed to equip administrators and research support staff with the knowledge and skills needed to efficiently manage the grant lifecycle using Pure. It provides a detailed walkthrough of the research lifecycle, from identifying funding opportunities to post-award management. Participants will learn how to create and manage internal approval processes by utilizing Pure's advanced workflow capabilities. Additionally, the session will cover the use of various content types such as Review, Ethical Review, Milestones, and Contracts to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance with institutional and funding agency requirements.

Session 6:

Exploring the new Pure Portal

This session provides an overview of the new Pure portal, helping administrators understand its new features, updated user interface, and configuration options. The training will ensure a smooth migration from the current portal by highlighting key enhancements and demonstrating how to effectively navigate and utilize the new system.
