Once you have created a widget, you can use the Classic Reporting Module to select the data the widget shows, much like modifying a report.

To configure a widget, hover over the widget and click the gear icon. Choose the option Edit widget.

The report definition window is opened with special options for widgets. Use filters and groupings as you would for a normal report.
