DataCite: Setup automated search on person level

An automated search on person level for DataCite will ensure that new content in DataCite that will match the configuration will be flagged as a new import candidate. This way you do not have to search DataCite regularly to keep you content up to date.

The integration can be setup to allow for Automated search on Person level. Administration > Dataset > Datacite > Automated search on person level

After enabling this setting, a search profile needs to be set up for the Persons. This can be done on the Person editor > Automated search > DataCite

A search profile can consist of name variants and an authenticated ORCID. The recommendation is to use both for maximizing your search results

Bulk setup search profile for all current persons

This allows all current persons to automatically have a search profile created and enabled based on name variants and an authenticated ORCID. Once the “Search for import candidates” has run, Personal users will start receiving email notifications on candidates for import.

With this setting enabled, new persons added to Pure will automatically have a search profile set up.

If you later on disable this setting, Pure will turn off the automated search profile for all persons where the profile has not been manually created, and consequently the import candidates will be removed

Once the “Search for import candidate” job as run Candidates available for import can be found on Editor > Datasets > Persons with import candidates

You can see if the candidates are found on an ID (Green) or name variant (Grey) match. This can indicate if you want to inform users about exploring the other option.

Personal users will be notified on candidates found on email and in the task bar.

This may depend on their individual settings.

Any changes to configurations, such as modifying the types to import or adding/removing names in the search profile, will delete your current import candidates. These candidates will be re-added when the “Search for import candidates” job runs again, ensuring that your import candidates always reflect your most up-to-date search criteria.
